Andy Martinez
Veteran Service Officer (VSO)
Andy Martinez joined the Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County (VACLC) in May 2026. A native to the Chicago land area, Andy is a veteran of the US Marine Corps where he served for four years from 2000-2004. During his enlistment, he was attached to 2nd battalion, 8th Marines out of Camp Lejeune, NC. He was deployed in support of OEF and OIF, where his distinguished service was recognized with a Purple Heart, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with a Valor device, the Combat Action Ribbon and the Presidential Unit Citation.
Following his military service, Andy pursed higher education and obtained a bachelor's degree in management from Northeastern Illinois University. He brings over 20 years of experience in management roles, serving as a liaison for employees and resolving complex conflicts.
Guided by faith in everything he does, Andy is a devoted family man who prioritizes quality time with his loved ones. He has a deep passion for staying active and being outdoors.
