Daniel Hunter
Administrative Assistant
Daniel Hunter recently joined the Veterans Assistance in December 2025. He was born and raised in Norwood, Massachusetts.
Dan attended the University of Southern Maine for his Undergraduate Degree in Music Performance, and subsequently attended Manhattan School of Music for his Masters of Music Degree. Upon graduation Dan began teaching at the University of Southern Maine as an Adjunct Professor of Tuba/Euphonium, chamber ensemble coach, and classroom instructor for Brass Methods. Dan also performed professionally with many world class musical groups including Portland Brass, New England Brass, Majestic Brass, Portland Symphony (ME), Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Boston Philharmonic, Fundacion Orquestra Sinfonia Nacional, Albany Symphony, and Vermont Symphony.
As Dan’s family began to grow he auditioned for the US Navy Fleet Band program. Upon winning the Tuba job, he and his family began to travel the world and in just under 12 years Dan was stationed in Virginia, Japan, North Chicago, Rhode Island, and back to North Chicago before separating from the Navy in April of 2025. During his time as a Navy Musician Dan was able to bring music to countries and their citizens all over the world, doing diplomatic and humanitarian missions showcasing the best of our country. Dan also discovered his passion for helping others during his time in the service as an Assistant Career Counselor/Assistant Command Pay and Personnel Administrator at several Navy Band Commands. This passion led Dan to achieve his MBA and Graduate HR Certificate during his last tour, and is excited to be utilizing these skills and working for an organization that positively impacts the lives of Veterans every day.
Dan enjoys spending his free time with his family, running and/or training for marathons, watching his daughter perform musical theatre and jazz music, and his son on the baseball diamond and basketball court.
