Marilee Brown
Administrative Assistant

Marilee Brown recently joined the Veterans Assistance Commission in September 2025.  She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. After high school she joined the US Navy as an Electronics Technician.

During her 20 years in the Navy, she was a part of the commissioning crew for the destroyer USS McCampbell. She also served onboard the destroyer USS Pinckney, amphibious ship USS Pearl Harbor and at Camp Pendleton in support of Landing Craft Air Cushion Hovercraft. She has deployed numerous times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as Counter Drug Operations in the Southern Pacific and various fleet exercises to strengthen relationships with US allies. Her military awards include the Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal (six awards) and the GWOT Service and Expeditionary Medal.

After she was transferred to the Fleet Reserve, she continued to support her husband in his Naval career. Upon arriving at their final duty station at Great Lakes Naval Station, she wanted to pursue a career serving again in some capacity. She found that opportunity at the Veterans Assistance Commission where she hopes to help her fellow veterans to the best of her ability. She enjoys spending her free time with her family doing outdoor activities, watching her son play baseball, traveling anywhere new and exploring restaurants.
